Waikato Chamber of Commerce Workshops

Each month Everest Group facilitates a topical human resource related seminar for Waikato Chamber of Commerce Members.   These seminars are held at the Chamber Offices and are held between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.   Recent workshops have included:

Management Development Modules

We have developed a series of modules to provide aspiring managers and first line supervisors with an opportunity to acquire a range of skills to improve their people management capability.   These modules can be delivered individually or to groups of staff.  However, we don't just train and leave - we offer personalised one-on-one coaching with our Organisational Developer as a follow up to ensure effectiveness and application.   Our modules cover:

  • Leadership Styles - identifying individual work preferences, factors and actions required to achieve consistent high performance.
     
  • Managing Teams - identifying the characteristics of effective teams, common team traps, team functions and strategies to enhance team effectiveness.
     
  • Managing Performance - establishing what performance management is, diagnosing performance traps, using feedback to improve performance.
     
  • Coaching and Mentoring - understanding the key principles of coaching and mentoring others, developing techniques and strategies to become an effective people manager. 
     
  • Effective Feedback - establishing the purpose of feedback and the guidelines for effective feedback, tools for giving and receiving effective feedback.
     
  • Managing Change - gaining an understanding of the change cycle, understanding why people resist change and exploring models to implement change.
     
  • Conflict Management - recognising and managing conflict situations, how to manage emotions, reaching satisfactory outcomes and increasing ability to cope with difficult people.
     
  • Interpersonal Communication - improving the clarity of your message, communication techniques, negotiating win-win solutions, developing effective listening skills and gaining more self confidence in handling face-to-face communication. 
     
  • Procedural Fairness - understanding discipilnary processes and the fundamentals of procedural fairness.
     
  • Time Management - developing strategies to address common time stealers and wasters, establishing what drives your day and improving your personal effectiveness by become less reactive and more proactive.
